Regency era (1800-25) corsets were called stays. The layered styling with the The Alvira Shirt and Trousers is inspired by a shift or chemise that were worn underneath to protect the clothes from the body. Short stays were worn to create the fashionable columnar torso of the time, allowing dresses to fall straight below the bust.

Bows in cream ribbon and mother of pearl beads are featured on all garments in the Alvira collection. Made from vintage white Damask tablecloths.

100% Cotton. Spot clean with delicate soap and line dry. Do not iron or steam. Dry cleanable.
